Deb Sofield is a Keynote Speaker, Author of the book, Speak without Fear – Rock Star Presentation Skills to get People to Hear What You Say, Radio Talk Show Host in the Salem Network, Podcaster and President of her own Executive Speech Coaching Co., which trains women and men for success in speaking, crisis communications, presentation skills, media and message development in the U.S. and abroad. Recognized for her work for improving the lives of others Sofield was awarded the Order of the Palmetto – the State of South Carolina’s highest honor.
She currently serves as the first female President and CEO of the Urban League of the Upstate, where she prepares and monitors a multimillion dollar budget. Her role allows her to combine her passion for people and community into a job she loves. She has been known to help nonprofit organizations increase public profile, gain community respect, and become more visible, mission driven and diverse organizations. She is the youngest member of Greenville City Council, serves as Mayor Pro Tem, and one of two minorities. She also chairs the Public Safety & General Government Committee and has helped to lead efforts towards Affordable Housing.
Varnessa Bails, is a native of Buffalo NY holding a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. Varnessa, now residing in Greenville SC with her husband and nephew has launched multiple, growing businesses in the fashion industry where she maintains a growing clientele base in the wardrobe styling field. Varnessa, a full time employee in the Corporate world, wife, "auntie", entrepreneur and ministry leader finds her greatest joy in serving the needs of others. She is determined to fulfill life's purpose and her goal is to style, educate and pull gifts out of others so that they too can fulfill life's purpose. Asheton was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina. With an upbringing that was deeply rooted in Southern Rock and Roll, Harley Davidsons, and Muscle Cars. She believes that self-expression should be celebrated, and your clothing is a way to show the world exactly who you are. Growing up Asheton had a hard time finding clothes that expressed who she was. So, Asheton created RockerBelles as a means of bringing unique fashion options to women of all shapes and sizes.
Tobi Kinsell is the director of OnTrack Greenville at United Way of Greenville County. Funded by the federal Social Innovation Fund and philanthropy partners, OnTrack Greenville is an unprecedented $15 Million initiative to identify and eliminate barriers, both in school and at home, to ensure middle school students stay on track for high school graduation. In this position, Tobi leads and facilitates transformative public/private partnerships with education, corporate, non-profit, and evaluation stakeholders to achieve the goals of the initiative and improve outcomes for students and the community.
Juana Spears Slade is chief diversity officer and director of language services with AnMed Health, South Carolina’s largest private, not-for-profit health system and one of the first acute care health systems in the State to dedicate full-time resources to strategic diversity management.
